A Few Things

A Few Things

It’s been a busy week and I’m trying to take the time to rest this weekend. So that means it’s time for another one of those “what have you been up to” posts where I write about things I’ve been enjoying lately and how I’ve been trying to relax.

Book: Project Hail Mary

Yeah, wrote about it last week. Still reading it, still having a great time.

Movie: Love Me

The movie’s like what if the love child of Wall-E and Roger Zelazny’s For a Breath I Tarry had a child that was terminally online. It’s a weird, delightful, existential movie about what it means to be human and what it means to love that happens to be about a satellite and a buoy.

LEGO Set: Cole’s Titan Dragon Mech

I love giant robots. This is well documented. A giant Lego mech is equally great and has me hankering to build more giant robots. Because no matter how many giant robots there are, there are never enough.

TV: Severance

I need to finish writing this post so I can go watch the next episode.

Album: Passenger Verse, Frightened Rabbit

I’ve been pacing myself with picking up Frightened Rabbit’s back catalogue, knowing full well that once I’ve got it all it’s very much done. Passenger Verse has been a delight of an album.

Video Game(s): Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus

The sequel to Wolfenstein acknowledges that fighting Nazis is already pretty fun, and rather than trying to reinvent the wheel, lets you fight even more Nazis (and also some KKK members for even more fun!). Throw in a ragtag multinational group aboard a submarine who are united in their quest to fight fascists and holy smokes I am on board.
